Installing the Produce8 Desktop Agent via NinjaOne (Windows)

This guide outlines how to install the Produce8 Desktop Agent using NinjaOne on Windows devices. It includes steps for deployment, variables, and optional Desktop App installation.

Before You Begin

If your organization uses antivirus or endpoint protection software, you may need to configure allow-lists or exclusions to ensure the Produce8 Agent installs and runs successfully.

Follow this guide to set up the necessary policies and exclusions

Step 1: Download & Prepare the Installer

  1. Log in to the Produce8 Web App and go to Personal Settings → Connection Status → Download Installer.
  2. Download the .msi installer for the Produce8 Agent.
  3. Be sure to select the correct installer for your device (ARM64 or x64).
  4. (Optional) Download the Desktop App Installer (.msi) from the same page if you plan to include it in the deployment.

Step 2: Deploy the Produce8 Agent via NinjaOne

1. Upload the Installer
  1. Upload the Agent .msi installer into NinjaOne.

2. Add Required NinjaOne Variables

To ensure devices appear under the correct Produce8 account, add the following variables in NinjaOne before running the script:

ACCOUNTID=
  • Your Produce8 Account ID can be found under Account Settings in the Produce8 Web App.
  • This is required for accurate device assignment.
(Optional) DEPARTMENTID=
  • Use this only if deploying by department.
  • The Department ID can be found under Departments in Produce8.
⚠️ Important: Use the Correct Account ID

Using the wrong Account ID will cause devices to appear under the incorrect Produce8 organization.

  • Deploying internally? → Use your own Produce8 Account ID
  • Deploying to a client? → Use the client’s Produce8 Account ID

3. Run Deployment Through NinjaOne

Push the deployment to the desired devices.

💡 Note: NinjaOne Does Not Require a Script

NinjaOne installations do not require a PowerShell script.

Simply upload the .msi installer and assign it to devices — NinjaOne handles the installation automatically.

Step 3: Deploying the Desktop App (Optional)

The Desktop App does not collect data. It is only used for user login, claiming Anonymous User profiles, and accessing insights outside the browser.

It is only needed when users want to:

  • Log into Produce8 locally via the Desktop App
  • Claim a background user profile
  • Interact with insights outside of the browser
To Deploy the Desktop App:
  1. Upload the Desktop App .msi installer into NinjaOne.
  2. Push to desired devices.
